What events are acceptable for submission?
Only complete event productions, exactly as the client received them, will be considered for review. At this time only weddings are being accepted for review.

Are you only admitting cinematic, expensive wedding videos with time-intensive post-production?
Our rating process allows for all types of videos. The main criteria is that it is engaging, and technically well done.

What does it take to be accepted? What will the reviewers be looking for?

• Image Quality
• Audio Quality
• Camera Work
• Creativity
• Timelessness (Tasteful. Will it be a great video in 20 years, or dated?)

What formats are accepted?
DVD-R or DVD+R.

Should the DVD have a label or should the case have an insert?
DVD labels and case inserts are not reviewed and do not need to be included.

How should the submission be packaged?
Include the following:

-Completed, signed and dated application form
-Your DVD(s)
-Application fee of $85 payable to AAEV

How will I be notified of the review board’s decision?
At the completion of the review process you will be notified of the review board’s final decision via e-mail. The completed reviewer’s ratings sheets will accompany the decision for your examination.

I am worried that my local competition will see the DVD(s) I submit.
Only review board members from outside your market area will view your DVD. All copies distributed to Review Board members will be viewed only by those intended and will be destroyed at the completion of the review. One copy of the submitted DVD will remain on file at the AAEV.

What will happen if I am invited to join the AAEV?
If you are invited to join the AAEV you will be added to the directory for one year and be given graphic and press release resources that will enable you to proclaim your successful review and association affiliation via broadcast outlets, print materials and through internet marketing and advertising.

If I am added to the directory, what happens after 1 year? Do I need to re-apply?
The cost to remain in the directory is just $20 per year to cover maintenance and hosting costs. It is not necessary to resubmit your work.

If I am accepted, am I required to place the AAEV logo and link on my web site? Won't that make it easy for prospective clients to learn of my competitors?
You are absolutely NOT required to place a link on your site. However, you will be given a personalized link which declares your membership and keeps others on the list mostly concealed. view sample

If I am NOT invited to join the AAEV, can I re-apply?
Yes. If you feel your work has improved, you can reapply after 1 year from your review. The cost to re-apply is just $20. THERE IS NO FINANCIAL ADVANTAGE FOR THE AAEV TO ACCEPT OR REJECT APPLICANTS.
